For this space in a mid-1800s Victorian house, we gutted the existing kitchen and moved the location of the sink and stove to create a more functional workspace. We also added new flooring, doors and windows. The kitchen is a mix of tradition and modern. A painted wood treatment on the walls is an elegant update on traditional shiplap. This is complemented by tubular hardware wrapped in leather and sleek, white counters. Finally, a tailored sink skirt and traditional base cabinetry is a nod to the Victorian era when this house was built.
